Barry McGuigan

Barry McGuigan is a former Irish and British professional boxer who became a world featherweight champion. He was also voted BBC sports personality of the year in 1985.

Barry currently works as a boxing commentator for ITV. And he has even tried his hand at acting. Two biographies of McGuigan have been written and in 2007 he appeared in the third series of Hells Kitchen where he was eventually crowned the winner after gaining the public vote.

McGuigan is the Chairman of the Professional Boxing Association, an organisation he has wanted to set up for over a decade, with the intention of teaching boxers the importance of education, and indeed educating them.

He and his wife are also both active patrons for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

In this video he talks about the importance of knowing who you are and where you come from when it comes to gaining success.
