Single Equality Scheme
A4e as a public service provider is keen to promote equality and celebrate diversity. This fits within our Company’s corporate commitment to deliver positive outcomes for our customers, many of whom are drawn from some of the most excluded sectors of society and to be an employer of choice for staff. We have adopted a Single Equality Scheme approach to meet the duties placed on us by the equality legislation.
Our core values include an explicit commitment to ‘improving people’s lives’. This commitment is central to all that we do and how we go about it. We will promote best practice in equality and human rights for our employees, customers and communities. We will also use our unique position to identify and combat exclusion, discrimination and disadvantage.
To ensure that we embed equality and diversity in all that we do our Scheme and Action Plan covers the period from April 2009 through to April 2012. We review our scheme and action plan annually to ensure our employment practices and service delivery are free of discrimination.
